Recognizing the substantial demand for fibre cement sheets in Sri Lanka, Ramco Industries started a wholly-owned subsidiary company - Sri Ramco Lanka (Private) Limited in 1999. The first factory was set up at Makandura Industrial Park in the North West Province. The company has been accredited with ISO Quality Systems Certificate (ISO 14001/EN ISO 14001) by RWTUV Systems GmbH, Germany.

A second subsidiary company Sri Ramco Roofings Lanka (Private) Limited was incorporated in 2010 under which a new plant was inaugurated at Mathugama in Kalutara District of Sri Lanka.

Currently the Sri Lankan operations have three modern production lines to manufacture fibre cements corrugated sheets for roofings and flat sheets for ceilings and partitions with a combined production capacity of 2,60,000 metric tons per annum.

Ramco Roofing Sheets are one of the top selling brands in the island nation.
